Are you looking for a painting idea for an unusual mural? Then this acrylic painting could be just the right inspiration for you: some pistils of dandelions protrude three-dimensionally from the picture. Learn here how you can create this picture yourself!

Background in smudge look

Apply a few dabs of acrylic paint in ivory, titanium white and olive green directly from the tube onto the stretched canvas. Work the colors into each other with vertical and horizontal brushstrokes using a priming brush to create an interesting smudge effect. Also paint the side edges of the stretcher frame. Depending on your personal taste, you can apply more paint and keep painting further until you like the background.

Painting with painting gel

For the dandelion motif, black acrylic paint is mixed with painting gel. This fascinating aid ensures that the paint has a raised texture when you paint it and a special shine when it dries.

Pour the mixture into an empty liner vials and use it to paint the dandelions. Start by painting the flowers. These consist of fine lines and dots. Then draw thicker lines from the flowers to the bottom edge of the picture as flower styles. Small filigree lines indicate the leaves of the flower to the viewer.

Create 3D look

When installing the flower stamps that protrude from the picture, VBS Painting Gel is used as an adhesive. It is a bit runny at first when applied, but as it dries, the product develops a very strong adhesive power.

Cut a few pieces of wire and use the gel to fix a wooden bead to each end. Once the wooden beads have dried, place a thick blob of painting gel in the center of the flowers to fix the pistils. When arranging the 3D flower stamps, use painting sponges, small auxiliary objects to hold the wire pieces in shape until the glue sets in.
