The decorative bird house "Happy Flower" with its rusty look is in itself a feast for the eyes. We show you how you can make it look great with a funny Napkin In doing so, we use Napkin technique and Acrylic paint and conjure up a beautiful bird house.
How do I design the birdhouse with the Napkin technique? First of all, prime the middle part of the birdhouse with white outdoor-Acrylic paint. Then carefully cut the motif of the Napkin in such a way that the head of the owl sits above the entrance hole. Then glue Napkin onto the middle section with Napkin varnish - also over the entrance hole. Also glue a suitable piece of Napkin on the back so that the house is glued all around. Now let everything dry well
After drying, cut the entrance hole free again with a scalpel.
How do I apply the paint to the birdhouse? Dab the roof of the birdhouse with a mixture of yellow, orange and pink outdoor paint. The flower or base is first dabbed with yellow outdoor paint and then rounded off on the outside with turquoise outdoor paint.
Extra tip - by dabbing the colours you get great contrasts
- if they have a relatively dark base colour, like here the rusty birdhouse, and want to stick something with Napkin technique on it, always prime the surface white first. This way napkin motifs are shown to their best advantage.
