Cheese game with holes

A do-it-yourself game of skill for small and large mice. This colourful and fun game is relatively quick to build and even the little ones can lend a helping hand.

The aim is to pull the mouse as far up as possible without it falling through the holes in the cheese.

Shape the cheese:

Using the wooden ring, draw several circles on the stretched canvas with a pencil. Make sure that the holes are not too far apart, otherwise the game will be too easy afterwards. Cut out the marked circles with scissors.
Paint the stretched canvas completely with the VBS-handicraft paint "buttercup" paint. Paint shades around the holes with the "grey brown" paint.
To ensure that the stretched canvas stands upright after completion, make angles from square strips and glue them to the back. The mitre cutting set is ideal for sawing these to size.
Glue two wooden rings together with VBS-handicraft glue glue them together. Once dry, screw an eyelet into one of the two wooden rings from the outside. If this is too difficult, you can also pre-drill with a hand drill. Also screw an eyelet into the upper corners of the stretched canvas . The wooden ring will be attached to these later.

Make the mouse:

Paint the wooden disk and a cut-out circle from the canvas with "Stone Gray" VBS-handicraft paint paint. Cut out two small ears and a small tail from the gray canvas circle.
Use the VBS-handicraft paint "old pink" paint on the inner ears and the little nose. Glue the wobbly eyes, ears and the little tail onto the wooden disk VBS-handicraft glue onto the wooden disk. It is important that nothing protrudes beyond the wooden disk so that the little mouse can fit through the holes.

Attach the mouse to the cheese:

Cut off approx. 2 meters of the warp yarn , double it and pull it through the eyelet on the wooden ring. Then thread a ribbon through each of the eyelets on the stretched canvas . A wooden ball can be knotted onto the end of the ribbon.

Now the game can begin: The wooden ring is located at the bottom of the stretched canvas. The mouse is placed in the wooden ring. The aim is to use the two threads to pull the wooden ring up the stretched canvas without the mouse falling through one of the holes. The higher, the better.
