Crafting Christmas Place Mats from Felt
It's glitter season during Christmas! Decorations and lights give your home a festive atmosphere. Why not make your dining table a real eye-catcher too? With personalized felt place mats, you not only protect the table surface but also give each meal a unique, shiny frame. In this guide, I will show you step by step how to create your own Christmas place mats.
Step 1: Cut the Felt
First, take the felt and cut a piece measuring 30 x 45 cm for each place mat.
Step 2: Decorate the Felt
Think about how you want to decorate your place mats and position the stencil on the felt. To ensure it stays in place while stenciling, secure it with painter's tape.
Take a dry sponge dabber and pick up some gold paint, then carefully dab the stencil design onto the felt.
Felt has a rough surface. Therefore, your first coat of paint may not be completely opaque - don't worry, just let the paint dry slightly before applying the next layer.
You can also sprinkle a little glitter onto the still-damp paint. To ensure you only glitter the desired designs, cover the rest of the placemat with a piece of paper.
If you want to decorate the placemat with only a little glitter, apply some Glitter Flaky Glue on a dabber and carefully dab this glue mixed with glitter along the edges and surfaces of the placemat.
