For the lucky worms, you will need embroidery twist in the colour of your choice and a 2.5 mm crochet hook.
1. form a starting loopStart by forming an initial loop from the embroidery twist. To do this, shape the thread into a small "pretzel", insert the crochet hook through the loop, pick up the thread and pull it through the loop to form the first stitch.
2. crochet chain stitchesNow crochet 40 chain stitches. These form the basis for the body of the lucky worm.
3. crochet half double crochets- Insert: Insert the crochet hook into the stitch.
- Fold the yarn over: Fold the yarn over and pull it through the stitch. You now have two loops on the hook.
- Pull through the first loop: Fold the yarn over again and pull it through the first loop on the needle only. You now have two loops again.
- Pull through the last two loops: Yarn over the thread one last time and this time pull it through both loops on the needle.
4. crochet more rowsTurn your work and crochet another row of half double crochets. Insert into each stitch of the previous row and repeat the process as in the first row. Repeat the steps for a third and possibly a fourth row.
5. crochet the loopAfter you have completed the body of the lucky worm, crochet a loop:
Crochet
40 chain stitches to form the loop.
Close the loop by crocheting it back into the body with a slip stitch right next to the beginning of the row of chain stitches for the suspension. This closes the loop and forms a small "hook".
If you want to tie your lucky worm to a key ring, you only need 20 to 25 chain stitches.
6. pull on the head
Finally, the head is pulled on: Carefully thread the loop through the hole in the wooden ball. This places the head on the body. Pull the head through until it sits firmly on the body and the beginning of the loop is directly in contact with the upper hole of the ball.
Now you have your finished lucky worm! Have fun crocheting and decorating!
