Making Soap with Ornaments
For your winter and Christmas project, start by setting up your workspace: Place the “ silicone mould ” for the ornament soap flat on a sturdy surface. This will keep the delicate ornament pattern clean and allow the soap to harden evenly later on.
Gently Melt the Soap Base
Cut the soap base into smaller pieces and melt it at a low temperature in the melting pot. Gentle heat is important to ensure the soap remains clear and homogeneous and that no lumps or bubbles form later. Stir slowly from time to time so that everything melts evenly.
Add color and fragrance
Now add soap colour , and fragrance as desired. Stir carefully, but not too vigorously: This ensures the color is distributed evenly and helps prevent too many air bubbles. For an “X-Mas Soul” color scheme, warm, festive tones look especially beautiful because they’ll highlight the ornamental relief later on.
Pour into the “ silicone mould ” and let it cure
Slowly pour the liquid soap into the “Ornaments” silicone soap mold. Pouring slowly helps ensure the ornament design is cast cleanly and the surface smooths out. Then let the soap cure completely. Allow enough time for this so that the pieces do not warp or chip at the edges when you remove them.
Unmold and package the soap bars
Carefully remove the soap from the “ silicone mould, ” by gently bending the mold and pressing the bar out. For a beautiful handmade finish, place the soap in a sisal bag. Stick the handmade label from handicraft glue onto the bag and let the adhesive dry thoroughly so that everything stays securely in place, whether you’re giving it as a gift or using it in the bathroom.
Paint and Seal a Soap Dish
If you want to add a stylish touch to your homemade soap, paint a soap dish with craft paints. Let the paint layers dry completely so nothing smudges later. Then coat the entire tray with acrylic varnish. This sealant protects against moisture and makes the surface suitable for everyday use—especially handy in the bathroom, where soap residue and water can quickly leave marks.
Finishing Touches for a Festive Set
Combine the ornament soap with the sealed soap dish and wrap both as a small winter or Christmas gift. The result is a harmonious set that’s handmade and looks especially high-quality thanks to the embossed ornament motif.
