With the practical VBS Bag template sew the most beautiful bags and toilet bags from your favourite fabrics. In addition to the basic cut a few small details and you have a very individual bag that no one else has.
Here's
how it works Transfer the semicircular template part to the flap fabric and cut it out, adding 1 cm seam allowance along the curve, not on the straight side.
Assemble the other 4 parts of the according Stencil to instructions, transfer them to the outer fabric and cut them out. Add 1 cm of seam allowance all around, except on the side where the flap is attached.
Then transfer the complete Stencil with the Strich-Ex pen to the plain-coloured lining and to the fleece lining and cut out with a seam allowance of 1 cm.
Iron the Vilene with permanent iron-on foil onto the lining fabric.
Sew the two outer fabrics together, then place the right side of the fabric on the lining
Sew all layers together along the line of the line-ex pin, leaving a turning opening on the long side next to the side wing.
Before turning, cut the corners and the entire seam allowance - except at the turning opening! - cut back to 3 mm, then turn.
Iron all edges carefully, iron the seam allowance in the turning opening to the inside.
Sew this in the Webbing middle over the entire length of the bag, turning the ends back about 1 cm to trim.
Fold up the wings, with the inside facing out. Sew the bag together at the wings, automatically closing the turning opening.
Turn the bag.
Fix the magnetic closure under the flap and matchingly on the front of the bag. Make the stitches for the ones with Metallic Markers a scalpel.
 | When transferring the template to Stencil the lining fabric, I draw the outline directly with the Strich-Ex-pen and then cut out with 1 cm seam allowance. So I can simply sew along the drawn line. Especially the rounding is very practical. |
