Instructions No. 3281
Difficulty: Beginner
Working time: 1 hour
Preparing and moulding the castings
Start by mixing about four heaped tablespoons of "Raysin 100" with water to form a lump-free, creamy mixture. Use a sufficiently large bowl and make sure that all lumps disappear so that the mixture is nice and fluid.
Carefully pour the finished mixture into the prepared silicone moulds. To ensure even distribution and avoid air bubbles, tap the mould gently on a firm surface.
Leave the moulds to harden for around 30 minutes before removing them from the mould.
Once the moulds have been demoulded, they should be allowed to air dry completely to achieve optimum strength. Rough edges can easily be smoothed with sandpaper.
Preparing the gift wrappings
Take four wooden blocks and saw through the centre. Glue them as an extension (on the long, narrow side) to seven craft glue blocks. This gives them a length of 24cm.
Then glue four more blocks together on the long, narrow side. Glue one block upright at one end of the glued blocks and place the letter moulds and a candle holder on top.
Glue another block upright under the letters as a support and place the candle underneath as a placeholder.
For the finishing touch, stick another block in front of the gift wrappings.
Allow everything to dry thoroughly to ensure a stable structure.
Personalising the candle
Carefully remove the candle from the gift wrappings.
For a personalised design, place a silicone stamp of your choice on the Clear Stamp Holder and cover it with the waterproof stamp ink from Staz-On. Carefully press the stamp onto the water slide film.
Alternatively, you can also use a candle liner to decorate the candle.
Cut out the stamped motif from the water slide film and place it in lukewarm water for 30-60 seconds until the backing paper comes off. Carefully slide the motif onto the candle and smooth out any folds with a soft cloth while dabbing off any excess water. . The motif can still be moved and corrected slightly in the first few minutes. It will be completely dry after approx. 6 hours.
After stamping: Clean your silicone stamp carefully with a stamp cleaner to ensure the longevity of the stamp.
Place the dried, personalised candle in the finished gift wrappings. Cut a piece of jute cord and tie it decoratively around the packaging to create a rustic yet elegant look.
