Are you looking for a unique and personal idea for a creative gift for Mother's Day?
In these instructions, we'll show you how to make a self-designed candle and a kandelaar in a handmade gift wrapping that will delight any recipient. This gift combines craftsmanship with a personal touch, making your gift an unforgettable experience.
Preparing and watering the castings
Start by mixing about four heaped tablespoons of "Raysin 100" with water to form a lump-free, creamy mixture. Use a sufficiently large bowl and make sure that all lumps disappear so that the mixture is nice and fluid.
Carefully pour the finished mixture into the prepared silicone molds. To ensure even distribution and avoid air bubbles, tap the mold gently on a firm surface.
Leave the castings to harden for around 30 minutes before removing them from the mold.
Once the molds have been removed, they should be allowed to air dry completely to achieve optimum strength. Rough edges can be easily smoothed with sandpaper .
Preparation of the gift wrapping
Take four wooden blocks and saw through the middle. Glue them as an extension (on the long, narrow side) to seven craft blocks using handicraft glue . This gives them a length of 24 cm.
Then glue four more blocks together on the long, narrow side. Glue one block upright at one end of the glued-together blocks and place the letter castings on top of it as well as a kandelaar.
Glue another block upright under the letters as a support and place the candle underneath as a placeholder.
For the final touch, glue another block in front of the gift wrapping. to finish it off
Allow everything to dry thoroughly to ensure a stable structure.
Personalizing the candle
Carefully remove the candle from the gift wrapping.
For a personalized design, place a silicone stamp of your choice on the Clear Stamp Holder and cover it with the waterproof stamping ink from Staz-On. Carefully press the stamp onto the water-slide foil.
Alternatively, you can also use a candle liner to decorate the candle.
Cut out the stamped motif from the water slide foil and place it in lukewarm water for 30-60 seconds until the backing paper comes off. Carefully slide the motif onto the candle and smooth out any creases with a soft cloth while dabbing off any excess water. . The motif can still be moved and corrected slightly in the first few minutes. It will be completely dry after approx. 6 hours.
After stamping: Clean your silicone stamp carefully with a stamp cleaner to ensure the longevity of the stamps!
Place the dried, individually designed candle in the finished gift wrapping. Cut a piece of jute cord and tie it decoratively around the packaging to create a rustic yet elegant look.
