There’s hardly a celebration that is celebrated as extensively as New Year's Eve. What would a party be without the right decorations? Especially on New Year’s Eve, it’s great to have things sparkling and glittering. After all, you want to celebrate the New Year in style!
With our simple step-by-step guide, you can create amazing decorations that will bring a smile to every guest's face and make your party an unforgettable experience!
1. Making Garlands
Start by designing your own garland. Take glitter foam and cut it into strips. Different colors like gold and silver are perfect. Glue the ends of one strip together to form a loop. The next strip will go through this loop and also be glued at the ends. Since foam takes a while to set, use paper clips to hold the glued parts in place, but make sure the clips don’t get stuck.
For a different variation, you can print out the letters HAPPY NEW YEAR (HAPPYNEWY) and transfer them onto cardstock or foil. Feel free to use the template or just draw the letters by hand. Cut them out and glue them onto a decorative ribbon to create an eye-catching letter garland.
2. Glass Decor
To add some glamour to your glasses for toasting without much hassle, cut stars out of foam. Make a cut from the outside to the middle at one point. Depending on the thickness of the glass stem, you should also cut a small hole in the middle. Then just wrap it around the glass and you're done.
If you like, you can also create coasters from the foam. Simply cut out more stars and place your glasses on them. Gold or silver cardstock also works well. You'll find a motif template for stars in different sizes here. Just download and cut it out.
3. Bottle Numbers
Create impressive bottle numbers as a "centerpiece" for your New Year's table. Spray empty mini bottles and MDF numbers with gold spray paint. Make sure to do this outdoors so your furniture and clothes don’t get stained. After drying, you can also dab the numbers and bottles with glitter paste to give the decor even more glamour. Once everything is well dried, decorate the bottles with ribbons and foam glitter stars.
4. Confetti Balls
A highlight of your New Year's table decoration could be these confetti balls. Take everything that glitters and shines and fill it into transparent acrylic balls. You can also beautify them from the outside with glitter paste. Distribute the finished balls on the table or hang them up. Decide for yourself whether you want to seal them with glue or transparent tape or if they should be intentionally left open for party fun.
5. Fairy Lights with Glitter Lanterns
Glitter lanterns will light up any living room. The VBS lantern lampshades can be easily placed on the individual bulbs of an LED string light. Coat each lampshade with glitter paste. Let the first layer dry before applying additional glitter. Once the lampshades are decorated with enough glitter and dried, attach them to the string lights.
