Scented candles not only look great, they also gradually give off a great, pleasant scent as they burn. This idea shows you how to create beautiful scented candles in a jar. The jars and lids have also been decorated with an engraving pen or branding pen.
Melt 30 tablespoons of paraffin wax in a melting pot. Then add colouring wax granules and let them melt as well (in our example we used 20 colouring pastilles in purple). Place the wicks in the jars. Tip: To prevent it from slipping when filling, you can fix it to a bamboo stick (placed across the jar) with tape.
Add a few drops of candle fragrance oil to the wax. Now slowly pour the melted wax into the jars. Allow the wax to cool.
In the meantime, you can design the lids. In our example, one lid was painted with craft paint, the other glazed (mix some craft paint with water). Print out the free template and transfer the motifs onto the jar and the lid using copy paper.
Slowly trace the lines on the jar with an engraving pen. The motif on the lid, which has been painted with craft paint, can also be designed with the engraving pen. The paint is removed so that the motif is clearly visible. The motifs on the glazed lid were created with the branding pen.
To protect the lids from environmental influences or dust, they can also be coated with Triple Gloss.
