The run-up to Christmas is the perfect time to get creative and bring the magic of Christmas into your home. With these instructions, you can show your loved ones that Tomte, the little elf, has moved into your home! Learn how to create an enchanting gnome door and a wonderful scene around the gnome. This craft idea is ideal for capturing the festive spirit and bringing a little Christmas magic into any room.
Step 1: Create the base of the Secret Santa door
Glue the craft blocks together
Glue 14 craft blocks together on the long, narrow sides using handicraft glue . Once the glue has dried, glue more craft blocks crosswise to the edges to create a small bowl.
Leave to dry and paint
Leave the glue to dry well. Turn the bowl over and paint it with white handicraft paint. Paint the entrance door and the fence in your preferred colors. Draw lines on the gnome door with a white marker to create optical tiles.
Step 2: Decorate the Secret Santa door
Attach the back and chain of light
If you like, glue three more craft blocks to the back of the door and add a chain of light . Leave the door open a little so that it looks as if Tomte has left the light on.
Attach the door and fence
Glue the door to the pedestal using handicraft glue Attach the fence around the platform using hot glue. Cut out an entrance with the side cutter.
Step 3: Create the decorative gnomes from clay pots
Paint the clay pots
Paint two small clay pots with white handicraft paint and leave them to dry.
Make the gnome hats
Print out the stencil for the hats and transfer them to felt. Cut them out and glue them together with hot glue. Cut off a piece of the faux fur cord, form a beard and glue this to the terracotta pot. as well. Attach a wooden bead as a nose and fix the felt hat in place. Don't forget to attach a small clip!
Step 4: Design the scenery
Set up the miniatures
Place some miniature Christmas trees on the pedestal. Stick the mini Scandi elves onto a wooden box and place them on the pedestal. Arrange miniatures such as a bench and a table on top.
Decorate the table
Decorate the table with more small clay pots, a miniature painting palette, a miniature pencil box and the miniature set with scissors and tape measure. Use your other items such as felt, wooden balls and jingles for further decoration.
Add additional details
Place some snippets on the floor and the miniature shovel. Stick a wooden ball next to the entrance door and hang a mini lantern from it.
Step 5: Add the finishing touch
Present the craft kit
Print out the photo from VBS craft kit "Scandi gnome" and stick it on a piece of cardboard. Cut out the message from Tomte and add it to your miniature craft scene.
