Are you ready to knit your own new favourite scarf? With our simple step-by-step instructions, you can create a cosy, soft scarf with elegantly glittering sequins in no time at all. Relax with your knitting hobby and look forward to your new fashion accessory.
You will need soft chenille yarn for this scarf and a circular knitting needle in size 6 to match the yarn. If you are unsure whether you have the right needle in front of you: You will find the correct size printed on the needle itself. For a special effect, use an additional yarn. You knit this together with the chenille yarn: you use both yarns together for your knitting, use 2 balls of each yarn.

The starting loop
First create a starting loop and place it on one of the needles. This is the starting point for your knitting project and the first step towards your new scarf.

Cast on knitting stitches
Now cast 50 stitches onto the knitting needle. If these stitches sit evenly and not too tightly on your needle, you can knit the following stitches comfortably and evenly.
"Garter stitch" rows knitting
What does "garter stitch" mean? Here you knit only knit stitches in every row - in both back and forth rows. This technique creates an even, wavy pattern that looks identical on both sides. Keep knitting until your scarf is about 55 cm long. To make sure that the length is right for you, place the knitted piece around your neck in between.

Fasten off the stitches
To cast off the stitches, first knit the first two stitches in garter stitch as usual. Then insert the left needle into the first knitted stitch and pull it over the second stitch. Repeat this process: knit one stitch, pull the first stitch over the second stitch until there is only one stitch left.

Sew the threads
Cut the wool thread to a length of about 20 cm, thread it through the darning needle and sew the end piece. Do the same with the starting thread to give your scarf a neat finish.
Sew the scarf ends together
Place the finished knitted scarf in front of you and do not place the ends "edge to edge", but slightly offset against each other so that only half of your edges are sewn together with another woollen thread. This type of sewing gives your loop scarf a special look, allowing you to "turn it inside out" in a fashionable way.
