How to make your own suncatcher:
For the animation from the Paper- and foil mix "Iridescent", first use the iridescent Paper in 120 g/m² and the wafer-thin iridescent foil in 0.018 mm thickness.
The wafer-thin foil is glued with napkin varnish onto the small acrylic disc.
To do this, apply a thin layer of varnish to the window with a brush. Then place the foil on top and draw over it with the scraper.
Use the tweezers to cut the edges cleanly. Repeat the process on the reverse side.
now transfer the templates for both discs to the back of the iridescent paper. Use the graphite paper for this. Cut out a piece, coat the back with napkin varnish and stick it onto the disk. Repeat the process on the reverse side.
Next, tie a Perlon thread separately to the bars. Pull the threads through the wooden beads. Tie a knot a few centimetres above and thread two wooden beads through again. Pass the threads through the hole on the underside of the small acrylic disc and knot the threads.
Now pull a Perlon thread through the hole at the top of the small acrylic disc, thread on the wooden beads, knot it a few centimeters above and thread on two more wooden beads.
Drill a hole in the large acrylic disc at the bottom. The threads of the small acrylic disc are pulled through this hole and knotted. Finally comes the suspension. The same two wooden beads are threaded on here too.
