Step 1: Preparing the loop
Firstly, drill two holes in each of the two oak rind boards. Pull a cotton cord through the holes and knot the ends to create a stable loop. So that you can hang a glass lantern on each board later, screw a screw hook into each board.
Step 2: Designing the glass lanterns
Take a motif handkerchief of your choice and unfold it, then cut it in half. Coat the outside of one of the glass lanterns with napkin varnish for glass and porcelain. Remove the top, printed layer of the handkerchief from the remaining layers of paper and carefully place it on the glass. Dab another coat of napkin varnish over the motif. Once dry, you can remove any protruding edges. The varnish can be baked at 160°C for 30 minutes. The glass can then be wiped clean. Plant a pretty spring or summer flower in the finished glass.
Step 3: Decorating the candles
Apply candle potch to one candle. Now decorate the candle with a handkerchief motif by peeling off the top layer of the handkerchief and placing it on the coated candle. Carefully press the motif smooth with a soft brush and leave to dry.
