Instructions No. 3124
Difficulty: Advanced
Working time: 2 Hours
Step 1: Meet Preparations:
Before you start marbling, you should protect your work area with a handicraft mat . This will prevent paint or water from damaging your surface. This preparatory work will save you a lot of time later when cleaning and tidying up.
Step 2: Prepare christmas balls
Take some christmas balls and carefully insert a bamboo skewer into the suspension. With the help of the bamboo skewer, you can easily dip the balls into the water and put them in flower arrangement foam to dry after marbling.
Step 3: Preparations: for marbling
For marbling, you will need an old container that is large enough to dip the balls into. An unused bucket is ideal for this. Make sure that you use a container that will no longer be used, as paint residue can be difficult to remove later only .
Step 4: Fill with water and prepare the paints
Fill your container with cold tap water. Shake the marbling paints vigorously so that the color pigments are well distributed. Then add a few drops of the desired colors to the surface of the water. The marbling paints float on the water and do not spread.
Tip:
Do not use too many different shades so that the end result does not look too uneven.
Step 5: Draw in the pattern
Now you can draw patterns in the colors with the bamboo skewer: Lines, waves, or squiggles. Be creative and try out different patterns until you like the design.
Step 6: Marbleize christmas balls
Carefully dip the balls into the pattern on the surface of the water and pull them out again immediately. Stick the bamboo skewer with the ball into the flower arrangement foam, so that the paint can dry.
Tip:
You can immerse the ball completely or only partially to create unique effects.
Step 7: New patterns and color effects
Would you like to try out a new pattern or a different color effect? You can remove the paint residue from the surface of the water by dragging a piece of Paper through the water. Then add new drops of paint to the water and draw a fresh pattern with the bamboo skewer.
Step 8: Personalize baubles with Cricut
If you want to personalize your baubles, open the Cricut Design Space program on your PC or tablet and create lettering as desired. Plot out the lettering according to the program's instructions. Remove the excess foil, position the transfer foil on top, peel off the lettering and place it on the baubles.
