Are you tired of boring silver metal doorstops? Do you want to give your home a personal touch? Then you've come to the right place! In this tutorial, I'll show you how to sew a stylish, nautical doorstop yourself. It's easy with some fabric, sand and your creative streak.
Step-by-step instructions
1. cord weave
To give your doorstop the perfect nautical look, first weave a cord. This can later be used as a handle. Take three paracord ropes of the same length, braid them together and tie a tight knot at each end. This will prevent the cord from opening again.

First design the pattern for your little bag. You will need six squares of the same size for a cube-shaped doorstop. Cut a small slit in one of these squares that is just big enough for the cord . The slit should only be wide enough to prevent the knots from slipping through.

Make sure to pin the squares together exactly with pins so that nothing slips.
3. Filling the sandbag
Use normal sand. to fill the doorstop. Alternatively, cherry stones or small pebbles are also suitable. Fill the sand into a freezer bag and seal it tightly. This will prevent the sand from trickling through the fabric.
4. Sew the individual sides together and fill the bag
Sew all the squares together, but leave one side open. Turn the bag right side out and fill it with the sand and cord. Sew the cord in place with a few hand stitches to secure. Finally, sew the last two sides of the doorstop together by hand. Make sure to choose a matching color for your yarn . You can decorate your doorstop as you wish with beads, ribbons or other decorative elements.
