Sustainability

Sustainability is becoming more and more important in the world. We at VBS have therefore been working intensively on this topic for several years because the environment is close to our hearts. For this reason, we are also increasingly including sustainable products in our range. We also try to provide inspiration and examples on this topic with ideas and instructions.

In addition to our assortment, we at VBS also pay attention to producing as little waste and especially plastic as possible. For example, we do not use plastic bags for shipping. Furthermore, it is important to us that we send you your goods in a climate-neutral way.

Website Carbon Neutral Program

With this special programme from our contract partner Ryte, we have been able to offset the CO2 footprint of our website. The CO2 emissions are offset by the fact that we support a climate protection project mediated by ClimatePartner. The project we support is certified with the strict VCS standard and is verified by the Rainforest Alliance and TÜV Nord.

Climate neutral shipping

We ship climate-neutrally with our shipping partner DHL. Thanks to DHL, all letters, parcels and packages are sent with offsetting of emissions generated. This programme supports climate protection projects around the world through investments.

Sustainable products

At VBS, we focus on natural materials or natural raw materials such as wood, peddigree cane, jute and natural flowers such as dried flowers. Sustainable products made from rapidly renewable raw materials are particularly suitable for environmentally friendly handicrafts and can be used without hesitation.

Sustainable products are also decorative ribbons made from natural material, on spools of 100% recycled material.

Warehouse

In our warehouse, we are constantly trying to evolve in order to store and later ship products to our customers in a more sustainable way. It is our goal to avoid as much waste as possible in the warehouse and during the shipping process. It is also important to us to use less and less plastic. For this reason, we have decided to do away with plastic bags and replace them with much more sustainable products.

Return

Returned goods that arrive at our premises are carefully checked by us and, if possible, offered as reduced goods in our shop. This helps to avoid as much waste as possible in the returns process.

Nachhaltig & umweltfreundlich

Nachhaltigkeit wird heutzutage immer wichtiger, um auch unserer Umwelt etwas Gutes zu tun.
Bei heutigen Handlungen wird an die langfristige Auswirkung gedacht. Nachhaltige Produkte sollten sowohl eine hohe Lebensdauer aufweisen, als auch bei der Herstellung und Entsorgung die Umwelt möglichst wenig belasten. Verschiedene Materialien wie Peddigrohr, Trockenblumen und Jute wachsen besonders schnell nach und sind somit eine gute Alternative zu z. B. Holz und vor allem Plastik.

Nachhaltige Bastelideen

Nachhaltigkeit liegt auch uns am Herzen und wir legen vermehrt den Fokus darauf. VBS bietet verschiedene Bastelideen an, die nachgebastelt werden können, um selbst etwas zur Nachhaltigkeit beitragen zu können. Von wiederverwendbaren Abdecktüchern über selbstgenähte Beutel zum Einkaufen bis hin zur eigens hergestellten Seife – Nachhaltigkeit und Umweltbewusstsein lässt sich beim Basteln wunderbar kombinieren. Doch VBS gibt nicht nur verschiedene Trends und Techniken an die Hand, es werden auch einige nachhaltig produzierte, umweltfreundliche Artikel angeboten. Hier gibt es bereits eine Auswahl von Peddigrohr Produkten, Öko-Gießseifen und vielem mehr. Die Tendenz ist steigend. Auch in verschiedenen Büchern werden tolle Möglichkeiten veranschaulicht, um Outdoor- und Homedeko ganz einfach umweltbewusst herzustellen.

Aus Alt mach Neu

Jeder hat sicherlich etwas Zuhause, das nicht mehr genutzt wird. Anstatt diese scheinbar unnützen Dinge einfach zu entsorgen, können wunderbare Upcycling-Projekte gestartet werden. Von upcylcing Möbeln bis hin zur upcycling Kleidung - hauchst du alten Kisten und T-Shirts neues Leben ein. Die neu entstandenen Dekorationen verleihen dem Eigenheim eine persönliche Note und werden zum Lieblingsstück mit Charme.

Was tun?

Fange noch heute an und geben der Umwelt ein Stück Leben zurück. Bereits der Verzicht auf Plastiktüten beim Einkaufen ist der erste Schritt zur Besserung. Auch beim Verpacken von Geschenken kann auf Klarsichtfolie, Geschenkpapier und Geschenkband aus Polyester verzichtet werden. Stattdessen lieber auf Kraftpapier und natürliche Bänder zurückgreifen.
