Step 1Start with the faces first. For the beak, cut out a 2 cm x 1 cm rectangle from the motif paper . Fold it into a square in the middle with the motif side facing inwards and cut a triangle towards the ends of the fold, starting in the middle on the open side. Glue the beak to the center of the 30 mm wooden ball. using handicraft glue , making sure to drill the holes.
Then draw on the eyes with a thin fineliners (approx. line thickness 0.2 mm). Draw them in gently with a pencil beforehand. Give the band of birds different facial expressions with sleeping, laughing and winking eyes.
Step 2The next step is to add the wings. You will need 2 strips of 11.5 cm each, 4 strips of 9.5 cm each and a 15 cm long strip cut in half for each bird. All strips have a width of 1 cm.
Glue the half strips into the two 11.5 cm strips. Add two 9.5 cm strips to each side. Glue the finished wings next to the hole in the 40 mm wooden ball using hot glue.
Step 3Now thread all the parts onto the elastic band. Tie two knots in the ribbon and pull the wooden ball 10 mm, the wooden ball 40 mm with the wings and the wooden ball 30 mm for the head onto the ribbon. one after the other. Now carefully prick a small hole in the straw hat with the scissors and pull this onto the ribbon and knot it on top.
Step 4Finally, tie a small bow from the elastic band and stick it between the wings with a dot of hot glue.
Your cute band of birds is now finished!
