Here are your instructions for making a cute band of birds from wooden balls with colourful hats. The VBS Craft kit "Bird gang" is ideal for children and adults who enjoy creative design. These birds are the perfect decoration for spring or summer and also make wonderful gifts or fun craft projects for children's birthday parties.

You can make five cute birds with our craft kit. In addition to the materials included in the kit, you will also need scissors, a pencil and ruler, a fineliners and craft glue or hot glue.

It's so easy to make the band of birds:

Step 1
Start with the faces first. For the beak, cut out a rectangle measuring 2 cm x 1 cm from the motif paper. Fold it in half with the motif side facing inwards to form a square and cut a triangle at the ends of the fold, starting in the centre on the open side. Glue the beak to the centre of the 30 mm wooden ball using handicraft glue. Pay attention to the holes.

Then draw on the eyes with a thin fineliners (approx. line thickness 0.2 mm). Draw them in gently with a pencil beforehand. Give the band of birds different facial expressions with sleeping, laughing and winking eyes.

Step 2
The next step is to add the angel wings. You will need 2 strips of 11.5 cm each, 4 strips of 9.5 cm each and a 15 cm long strip cut in half for each bird. All strips have a width of 1 cm.

Glue the half strips into the two 11.5 cm strips. Add two 9.5 cm strips to each side. Glue the finished angel wings next to the hole in the 40 mm wooden ball using hot glue.

Step 3
Now thread all the parts onto the elasticated ribbon. Tie two knots in the ribbon and pull the wooden ball 10 mm, the wooden ball 40 mm with the angel wings and the wooden ball 30 mm for the head onto the ribbon one after the other. Glue the head to the ends of the angel wings with a little hot glue. Now carefully cut a small hole in the straw hat with the scissors and pull it onto the ribbon and tie a knot over it.

Step 4
Finally, tie a small bow from the elasticated ribbon and stick it between the angel wings with a dot of hot glue.

Your cute band of birds is now finished!
